Yes another WoW post, I will save you the need to urge your peni towards the keyboard in a desperate attempt to point this out...

Pretty sweet RPG so far, only a couple of hours in. Haven't quite seen why so many people have been fapping like porn monkeys over it yet but have been told by plenty you are no-where near scratching the surface of it yet (which I can believe by the sheer size of it so far).

Chose to be a Dwarf in the end, a Warrior Dwraf with possibly the ugliest face ever. Kicks ass in battle, spent ages at the opening of Dragonmaw fighting the wolves and troggs to level up a bit. One thing that is decent is that everyone who I have come across so far has been pretty helpful and not even slightly c*ck faced.

Interface is sweet, the layout was easy enough to get to grips with after the initial "this is just one area, wtf?!". The environments make Lisa Riley's mu*f saddle looking like a toddler's paddling pool.

Controls are easy, the magic areas aren't even slightly geeky from what I have come across so far, just drag it onto the bar and click it when you need it. Haven't really bought much yet but that too seems simple enough to use and from what I gather it nails other MMORPG's for its less geeky approach. For a first time MMORPG'er' I have founs it fack easy to get into and nothing like what I expected (only in a good way though).

Visually it is sweet, the soundtrack is awesome, the presentation is spot on etc etc *fap fap*

Wish I didn't have work tomorrow but life's a b*tch!

I have gone down the Beas**t Mas**tery route purely because the res**t jus**t seemed to consis**t of reducing cool down times which doesn't really fuss me.

I have however got the Aimed Shot from Marksmanship but s**topped there, the shot is excellent as an initial shot but after that it is pretty crap due to how long it takes to load.

Beas**t Mas**tery is excellent really, increased pet power/health and armour by 10%, plus you can upgrade the speed of Aspect of the Cheetah/Pack which is useful for group ques**ts and for when you aren't using the amount. It's the pet which makes the Hunter (for me) the bes**t class in the game. What with claw/cower/growl as a combo with a Tiger - critical s**trikes do around 90 damage and everage s**triks do between 35-45 which is bloody useful in PVP. Yes**terday up in Arathi I sent my pet chasing after someone, in the mean time some level 37 Horde wh*re thought it would be good to attack my pet, by the time I got there he was pretty much done and burried yet my pet s**till had half of its health left. If you catch them unawares you can take any similar level Horde easy.

Going to go in search tonight to upgrade cower and see if my Tiger can learn bite.

Reached level 40 las**t night (already a quarter of the way to 41 as well) and ended the night with jus**t short of 75G, with a bit of luck tonight I should have my mount ready to clear down a sh*t load of ques**ts I have had sat around for yonks. Don't know how long it is going to take me to fully kit out with Mail Armour and the new Hunter abilities, shouldn't take too long though after this Lisa Riley sized attempt to get my mount. Can't wait to have the ability to walk pas**t the Auction House knowing I can buy what ever the hell I want, been saving for a mount for the las**t week so I have grinded well over 50 hours or so jus**t collecting loot.

Kawada - you up for cearing those old ques**ts down this weekend? Also head back to Stormgarde and get the remaining badges, hopefully it should be a little quiter tonight :D

I've gone for marksmanship. It's an excellent path to take if you proffer ranged combat (duh) the Aimed Shot ability you'll be able to learn is a must, I'm at rank 4 with it now and can critical hit with it for just over 800 hit points, the downside, takes ages to load the shot and has a tendency to miss on occasions, but a great damage dealer all the same. The Trueshot Aura which some say is crap is another ability I've come to like.

It gives a bonus attack rating of 30 (it's ranked like many abilities so it gets higher later on) combine this with you aspect of the Hawk skill, and you can net yourself over a 100 attack rating for ranged combat. It's also affects whatever group you may be in, so if you find yourself grouped together with four others, they all get the increased attack rating as well (including pets) as long as they are standing within 30 yards of you.

Survival is for the most part useless. Lets be honest here, we hunters suck in close combat, so unless you've chosen to specialize in it, avoid this one. That said, it is worth getting the Entrapment and Improved Wing Clip abilities, perhaps the only useful talents in survival.

Beast Mastery, from what I've heard it can have mixed results. Some say it's utterly useless, others say that with practice, it can make PvP'ing with pets allot easier. Don't know on this one, haven't learnt much there, but it has nothing I find appealing.

:' (

Just remembered we have a download limit on our broadband.
There goes that - it took about 2 years to convince my dad to get off 56k, I don't hold out much hope for an upgrade.

Bast.

Just been having a quick look on the old interweb. Jeff Minter's announcement: http://www.yakyak.org/viewtopic.php?t=36596 and screenshots and videos of it in action, which I'm downloading right now: http://www.llamasoft.co.uk/neon-movies.php. This is such a nice story, it makes me feel warm and cuddly inside.

I'll stop cluttering up the thread now.

The game itslef is pretty simplistic, it's the insane particle / gfx effects that are the processor killers. :D

I've got a copy of Edge with a big llama on the front, it's well old but they had a Unity party or something?

I still sit down sometimes and try to make Tempest in Flash.

Yup. Totally by accident. After a bit of looking, there's rumors flying about that he's so impressed with the hardware, he's looking at doing Tempest 4000 (Tempest 2000 is a seriously trippy game)

Further rumors that Unity could be ressurected.

I'd buy a console just for that.
