We really needed a thread for the world's premier type of music, so I created one, and here it is.

Rock on!

I'd have loved to see Led Zeppelin live, y'know, just for the experience, a part in history ... and for some spliffs

Unfortunately it's a little late now, just a thought though

Anyone ever seen Black Label Society live before? I have a chance to, and I think I'll probably take it.

Ok... got them all downloading at the moment.

About Death, I recommended some of their stuff before, that was from an album they had called Leprosy, that was their second album and back then, they were a good solid old school death metal band. I also recently got an album of theirs called Symbolic, and they're kinda technical thrash with more shouty screamy stuff and no growly grrry stuff. The instrumentation and song structures are awesome though, even if I think the vocals were best left as *deep breath* rruuuuuuuuururrgguuuuurraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhh kinda stuff.

Stuff I'd recommend from Leprosy:

Pull the Plug
Choke On It
Left To Die
Born Dead
Leprosy

And from Symbolic:

Crystal Mountain
Symbolic
Zero Tolerance
Perennial Quest

Also check out a band called Otyg. Specifically, their song called Trollslottet. They're quite entertaining.

They're not exactly a 'metal' band itself.

They're 'prog-rock/metal' typeish.

I reccomend

Blackest Eyes
Strip The Soul
Shallow
Open Car
Shes Moved On

Listen! Listen to them all and, I'll try out this 'Death'

For the sake of keeping this thread alive, ok then I'll look into Porcupine Tree. Which songs, specifically?

BTW, you should all download Crystal Mountain by Death.

That's a really really cool song.
Try getting some of the stuff from their Damnation album if you haven't already, it's mostly acoustic (or clean, at least), and much more mellow than their other material but it's really amazing. Windowpane and Death Whispered A Lullaby have to be two of the best songs ever, in my opinion.

Having said that, I've not come across anything less than an incredible Opeth song yet.

Limp Bizkit use mostly C#, don't they?
That's not that low...

I'll agree they're still awful though.
