I wouldn't have Robinson in my England team until Euro 2004 has finished. However I do rate him very highly and think that he will etablish himself as England's number one in the next few years. His move from Leeds will be essential: if he goes to a top team and never plays he's shafted himself, if he goes to [another] crap team and has his confidence affected by constant goals against, he's done himself up like a kipper guv.
Three of the back four is sound and it will almost certainly be playing from the start during Euro 2004 (Ashley Cole is still ahead of Bridge in the pecking order for me), though I hope Glen Johnson continues to develop at Chelsea. He looks real class.
The central 3 midfielders looks strong and I would like to see Rooney in the withdrawn role behind a front two. Owen is a definite and maybe someone like Dyer (I know he's not a forward) would provide another pacy front runner. England need to play counter attacking football if we are to stand any chance of doing well this summer.
Oh and to answer the original post's question: Gerrard.
GK - Robinson
RB - Neville (not ideal, but who else is there?)
LB - Bridge
CD - Terry
CD - Campbell (Rio isn't allowed to play is he?)
CM - Gerrard
CM - Beckham
CM - Lampard
AM - Cole (Joe)
ST - Owen
ST - Beattie/Defoe/Smith

'Nuff said.

There's a couple of players. Wingers like Scott Parker or Kieron Dyer have been known to function on the right.

David Beckham plays in the central midfield role for England.
