I started thinking about what I would have done in the same situation as my dad. Would I have gone in the shop and given the wallet in? Would you?
Working in a shop, I'm obviously gunna do the right thing if I find money. I'm always concious as to whether or not I'm being watched. But my employers (or now former employers) are happy that I hand in money.

You dun have to, you could just rip up the phone number and keep the wallet! AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps if there was an address or phone number inside then most people would return it to the owner. Actually I think I might write a little note for my wallet now with my details just in case I ever lose mine. Losing a few pounds I don't really mind but the hassle of canceling and getting new cards I could do without.
