Even if it has inaccuracies it still raises awareness of various issues in an interesting way. I'm surprised a backlash has taken this long to come about to be honest since Moore delights in rocking the boat.
I would say the world is better off with him than without him.
Plus if, as other sites and people have claimed before now, you have to furnish your work with inaccuracies, lies and selective evidence then maybe it's not really so much about any kind of cause as it is making a name for yourself and getting the cash in.
