Anyways, can you tell me what the difference between an Intel Celeron and a Pentium 4 processor is please?

I want to buy a laptop, and was thinking of one of these two.
The bottom one is like a hundred quid more and I want to know if it's really worth it for an extra 10 gig on the hard drive and a pentium 4 thingy whatsit.

A Celeron is like a cut-down version of a Pentium - imagine a Ferrari engine in a Skoda chassis.

Yeah, but it's like 800 quid!!

not to mention the 512k level 2 cache (whatever that means) other is 128k level 2 cache

Celerons tend to be the crapness.

Celeron no, not from my experience anyway. Although as Biggles keeps saying a new socket moitherboard and CPU is out later this year so you may want to wait to see what new laptops arise.

I dont know the difference, but get the pentium, its better.
