But one could equally say buy; Siamese Dream (Smashing Pumpkins), False Cathedrals (Elliott), Colour & The Shape (Foo Fighters), Relationship of Command (At The Drive In), Weezer/Blue (Weezer), Blood Sugar Sex Magik (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), United By Fate (Rival Schools), Superunknown (Soundgarden), Pink Moon/Bryter Later/Five Leaves Left (Nick Drake), Grace (Jeff Buckley), Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness (Smashing Pumpkins0 etc etc etc and YOUR opinion will be changed for ever.
Like you said, tis all pointless, because it takes something really special to change someones tastes once they are entrenched. :D
Emo, rock, some 'heavy metal' (i.e nothing too serious). Rock that in general has something to say with some skill in it. Yah!

The idea of industrial is to have a rougher edge, thus giving it a more agressive sound. Some people like stuff that way because it's a louder, more extreme sound, and better to mosh/headbang to. Not that I'm exactly a big fan of it, but I know people who are.
Except if you like Industrial Techno Goth. Your not allowed to like that. I met a dude who liked that, dude was a freak, and that music is just utter utter utter s**t, you shouldn't physically have ANY intention to want to listen t it. It's like saying, yeh im gonna let a cat scratch at my eyes, what fun.
