Okay, I was hoping somebody else would start talking about this and I could casually join in without having to admit to anything, but as that hasn't happened, I have to admit... I bought a "kid's" game.

Excellent fun though! Anybody agree? I had a little fun on Episode III which managed to give away a few little plot details (there really aren't many left at all now for this movie) and also spent some time running through Episode I.

It might be simple stuff (well, it definitely is, even making TimeSplitters 3 look hard by comparison), but its somehow excellent fun and often quite funny. My only criticism so far is that duels between two human players tend to reach stalemate quite quickly because of the excellent blocking achieved by quick mashing of the square button. My advice: convince them you're working together then surprise the other player with some sneaky back sabering.

Any thoughts?

Okay, I've read the replies here and I'm a little interested. As Lego games tend to be for younger gamers, what value does this game have? Does it have replay value etc...?

Sorry to tell you this, I had no luck here either. Mine didn't load for ages and when it finally did on attempt number 20 something... it made a horrendous noise. I tried it on a friends PS2 and the story wasn't that different - it loaded more quickly, but made loads of noise again.

I actually got a new PS2 recently, one of the PSTwos and that loads it fine, though its still noisier than with other (as you say, silver) discs. I wouldn't suggest replacing your PS2 just for one game though - I did it because of gradually compounding problems - it gave up playing DVD movies years ago, then steadily got worse with games too. A disc cleaner prolonged its life for an extra year or two, but even that has little effect now. Luckily it still works for most things, so can let others use it now - two ps2s on the go at once.

Has anybody had problems loading Lego Star Wars. I think it may be to do with the disk being blue as i have no probs with silver disks. I thought it was the disk, i have swapped it three times now but still having the same problem "DISK READ ERROR", HELP.

One hell of a fun game, with good but not too taxing puzzles. It's a game that you can storm trhough in an evening, but has infinite replay value with a friend.

Also love the character switching with different abilities. And Yoda with the lightsaber.... wow! Without... hoverchair!! You can't lose.

Worst parts are the vehicle sections - race wasn't too bad, but the end of Episode 2 where you had to blast the light beams, then the power coils in under a minute or so... was a bit tight. Though it was great when I managed it with a split second to spare.

And when Padme gives birth... heh.
