I know it's been about for a while. I wasn't keen on the whole idea really, but having watched it tonight I think I can safely say it was a stonking film. Really impressed with the CGI, the action scenes, and the whole 'dark' storyline (I was expecting a cheesy kids affair like spiderman).

Surprise hit of the year for me. What did you think?

Johnny Depp is a superb actor, but one of the things I like about him is he chooses the more intelligent challenging roles. I just can't picture him playing a villain in a batman film.

Don't do it Johnny.

Ah I just googled it and apparently the main bad guy in the new Batman Movie is going to be some Batman Villain called Ra's al Ghul. Johnny Depp may play him instead. I think he'd be good either way although don't know how he'd like a big Hollywood Film like that. Ok Pirates Of The Carribean was too but this will all be set in the big city and stuff. Hmm strange choice if he gets the part.

Oh now this has been popped to the talk Maverick reminded me of something I read. Aparently Johnny Depp is up for the role of a Batman villian in the new movie. I think he is going to be the Scare Crow or emmm damn I can't remember the name of the other guy. I think it began with an R? Anyway yeh he is up for the role of one of them which should be very good.

Give me the original series any day. If only they'd release the whole of it on DVD...

So just because a film is never destined to be any good, it's not the film makers fault if it turns out like it?

Look at the original Superman and Batman films. Two excellent examples of how a good superhero movie SHOULD be done. The trap is to fall into using unnecessary violence and forget about the actual superhero himself. I don't want one dimensional lead characters - if it's a film about a person it should show a lot more than how fast they can punch a bad guy.

Oh please, it's easy to see that I was discussing and not dismissing your opinion.

Can't be bothered to argue anyway, I'm in too good a mood. I've got a day off tomorrow, there's good TV on tonight and I'm listening to the Ghostbusters theme tune.

Every film should have a plot of some sort. Whether it involves a romance or anything. This was just a really poor film in my opinion that would have been made far better by simply adding a story line that wasn't dull and dragged out by endless CG violence. It may not have been expected of it as you say but it doesn't mean it's stupid to want it.
