My beloved original Settlers game has packed up after 9 years, and I'm really missing playing it. Does anyone know anywhere I can download the original? I can't find it anywhere.

Probably, but I didnt install the game originally so it never dawned on me.

The original I have is on floppy disk, not CD. Without a working disk I can't play it. :(

I love civilisation creation games, and RTS's. I think when I get a job this week, I'll be taking out a 6 months interest free credit offer from SR, to buy some upgrades for my PC, so that I can start playing some of the newer titles.

Or wait a month or two and completely uprate the thing.

It does however have Alpha Centauri which is quite simply the greatest PC game ever created. I loved it so so much. I reviewed it on here except it wouldn't post.

Pestering Bob got it fixed just so I could mention how wonderful it was.

www.classicpcgames.com has loads of stuff on it, but no Settlers. Settlers 2 3 and 4 are on it though.

I'll have a look out for you. I actually thought I had it somewhere, but on closer inspection it appears I don't.

Caesar III is great, except from when revolts happen.

Old classics:

UFO
Civilisation 2
Transport Tycoon
Caeser III

Never really played Settlers. But the above 4 are enough to last one years and years.
