The public are CRYING out for a remake of Final Fantasy 7 for the PS2 or something, and what do Square give us? Another movie.

Ok, on one hand its nice to have Cloud and Sephiroph (who IS the best bad guy of all FF history) back BUT its such a shame that its not a game. Severeal continents would explode at the prospect of a proper sequel to that...

I always heard about the Chrono series but never managed to get my hands on them.

After Nintendo did their big conversion job with all their back catalogue from SNES to GBA, I was seriously hoping that Square would do the same now that they patched their differences up. A nice story led Final Fantasy would be a treat, especially with the hardcore fans always banging on about how good 5 & 6 were in the series. Secret Of Mana would be a joy to play through again, but then again, there is the tempting sight of Sword Of Mana to come.

Yeah think I had a look at that but didn't buy it for some reason. Might have been when I was going through a hardcore Perfect Dark phase.

I think they're both collections of FF games, Anthology being 5 & 6 and Origins being 1 & 2 as far as I know.

If you like Final Fantasy, the lesser known Vagrant Story on PSOne was quite good too! But I never did get all of the way through it...

Well, it turns out that FF7 will play on a PS2 and the FF Anthology i was talking about is an actual game itself, not the series as I was thinking.

They didn't have it in stock though :(

There was also a game called FF Origins. You know if this is any good?

No worries, I guess I could get the guys in Gamestation to test it out on their machine before I buy :)

Not sure about the anthology ones at all ... I'm SURE I've had FF7 working on my PS2, I've definately had 8 work on mine. Unfortunately my copy of it went walkies so I can't test it out for you!

Good, good. Think I'll buy it on my Lunch break then!

I read in places that 'Final Fantasy Anthology' was on the incompatibility list for PS2 and I assumed that meant all PSOne FF games.

Oh yes, it still works. Its the BEST game for terms of characters and drama.

I also quite liked 8 as well ... even though it DID get a bit fight, draw, fight, draw, fight, draw ... all the time.

I dunno, at the end of the game a rather large meteor had ploughed into it, the 500 years later scene shows Midgar all under rampant growth and the like, the Midgar in the movie is freshly destroyed.
