Ouuch.. I feel as though I'm about to die, so if I go missing..

I just fell down some stairs.. :(
Watching it on You've Been Framed probably would've been funny but it's not. Surely everyone has been silly enough to fall down some stairs.

Stupid. Ran upstairs to get a drink. Walked downstairs, it's the cellar so they're concrete.. Jump off the last step, but banged head on the low ceiling, landing straight on my back on a step, banging head and arms to go with that..
And you know what? I thought I was gonna die! Seriously, I panicked BIG time screaming "Mum!!", but she wouldn't have heard anyway because she was asleep until I woke her up. It was a very emotional moment! :p
Then tried to run upstairs having a sort of panic attack.

So.. I'm not going to sleep now even though I have an interview tomorrow :s I might die in my sleep and I don't want to do that!

Anyhoo.

All of a sudden I'm interested to know now.. obviously falling down the stairs might not kill you, but what's the closest you've ever come to nearly dying? Please share!

My cousin was born with something like that. He has to have liquid pumped through a hole in his stomach. He can't eat solids else he'll either choke or just throw it back up.. throwing it back up would be near impossible though seeing as he hasn't got the strength to with one weak lung and the other near enough 'gone'. :s

Same here on both counts. If I did that now, I'd probably have a broken neck or broken something. Though if I did that now, the humiliation of not being able to walk down stairs would be more difficult to bear :)

I fell down my parent's stairs about 16 years ago - a proper "legs over head over legs" roll all the way from the top to the bottom. Surprisingly, though, it didn't hurt that much.

There have been a few incidents where weve almost went into a lorry that stupidly thought it would be able to get onto the roundabout before we got round.

I was also born with a defect that meant i couldnt eat, or i would just be sick, i had to have an operation, although by that time i was close to death.

I was also almost impaled on a wooden caine in my grannys garden.

Ive fell down the stairs a few times, although my natural instinct to preserve my life has seen me always grab onto one of the wooden spars which make up the banister, so ive never really rolled more than 5-6 steps down.

Erm, better add they thankfully missed. Touch wood, etc.

Heh, I almost clipped a car the other day. I got a new car on Wednesday and I was on the Motorway about to overtake. The car was more powerful than I expected and rather than normally accelerating while moving into the other lane, I got a burst of speed and almost went into the back of the car in front.

I'm a brilliant driver though, so naturally there was no real danger! :P
