Ouuch.. I feel as though I'm about to die, so if I go missing..

I just fell down some stairs.. :(
Watching it on You've Been Framed probably would've been funny but it's not. Surely everyone has been silly enough to fall down some stairs.

Stupid. Ran upstairs to get a drink. Walked downstairs, it's the cellar so they're concrete.. Jump off the last step, but banged head on the low ceiling, landing straight on my back on a step, banging head and arms to go with that..
And you know what? I thought I was gonna die! Seriously, I panicked BIG time screaming "Mum!!", but she wouldn't have heard anyway because she was asleep until I woke her up. It was a very emotional moment! :p
Then tried to run upstairs having a sort of panic attack.

So.. I'm not going to sleep now even though I have an interview tomorrow :s I might die in my sleep and I don't want to do that!

Anyhoo.

All of a sudden I'm interested to know now.. obviously falling down the stairs might not kill you, but what's the closest you've ever come to nearly dying? Please share!

Stairs are dangerous.

Nah I've only fallen down them once, when I was like about 6.

I always fall-up stairs. Everyones done that :oP

Er, brushes with death?

My throat was cut by glass/Fallen onto my back from a fair height/a car reversed into me and carried on going(then stopped!)

And then I have more painful ones, but not near death.

nasty stuff. I've been shot with an air rifle, which hurt like hell despite the fact that it wasn't going fast enough to cause any more damage than severe bruising.

Falling down the stairs does kill you. The woman a few doors along from me fell down her stairs and tried to grab a window ledge near the top to stop herself falling. She knocked a vase off of the ledge. She never managed to hang on, fell down the rest of the stairs and slit her throat on the broken vase. She bled to death by her front door. What makes it worse is that it is true.

I've fallen down stairs. My cat dived across my feet.

I've had a few brushes with death. When I was very young I was in a car accident where we went under an articulated lorry. They didn't have sides at the time. However I survived.

I was run over by a car once. It was strange, your life does flash before your eyes, all of it, but in slow motion. I had head injuries from that one. But I survived.

Although the chance of it killing me was slight, I got shot once. The moral of that story kids is don't mess around with guns even if you are fully trained professionals.

I once had a pork chop cooked by my dad. That was close.

There have been a fair few near misses, although I was never hurt in them. But that is all the serious stuff that I can think of off hand.

Hope your feeling OK now though.

Right then, where do I start...

When I was a baby in my first 6 months of living my heart stopped beating 3 times (not like "missed three beats" we're talking the full "He's dead Jim!", so that was good

Um, I once fell off a fence the equvilant of a second floor window, onto concrete, landing on my back.

A horse charged me. (not really near death, but still, horses suck.

O and I choked on some food and got heimliched...4 times...

O and I once watched "Caroline in the city" scariest moment ever, nearly died.

What?!

Curses. Had I known the track wasn't in use, I wouldn't have bothered with the push.
