Re-watched it today after reading an article in Hotdog magazine, and was absolutely bessoted with every frame, every word. Simply one of those perfect films that will sit with me for the rest of my life.
Funny, inventive, warm, emotional, thoughful, suprising, upsetting, uplifting.
Need I go on?
> Labyrinth,
I loathe that film.
They are the ones that spring to mind, Labyrinth as a Henson fantasy was perfect :)
The Usual Suspects - again, wonderful twist at the death of this film
LOTR triology - a large undertaking to translate these to film without having the fans of the books up in arms. I like the special editions where the director/writers justify all changes in translating from book to screen and I THINK I can just about forgive changing the end of Return Of The King
Battle Royale - it should be shocking but its not, so damn hilarious! grabs you RIGHT by the nuts this film
Bladerunner - the directors cut, light years ahead of its time, no other film has its mood and vision
Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence - I just like this one, Bowie is cool in it, and I love the soundtrack
enough for now
You know what I mean.
I just put it in there because it was on last night and made me laugh.
Not sure why...
> Con Air (look, it sucks, but it is fantastic)
how can it suck and be fantastic?
personally I say it definitely sucks.
Here we go.
American Beauty
Shawshank Redepmtion
Terminator 1/2
Wayne's World 1/2
Con Air (look, it sucks, but it is fantastic)
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest
Matrix (the first one)
LOTR trilogy, ROTK in particular
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (is there a better space battle anywhere?!)
+ Some more that I will no doubt be reminded of.
