Well, the drug is being (or has been) downgraded to class C. What does this mean? The government are keen to point out that it is still illegal, that those in possession will still be arrested.

On the news tonight, they used the phrase "Cannabis, a drug tens of thousands of people choose to smoke each week". I think they are seriously underestimating how widespread its use is. I wager everyone on here knows somebody who smokes it, I certainly do. Could decriminalizing the drug work in this country? There are huge benefits for the government in the way that it would free up a lot of police time, which could be used for catching those dealing/possessing harder drugs.

Is there any point whatsoever in downgrading the drug as they have done?

Do you have any views on the drug, or the questions I have asked above?

You've obviously never broken a single law in your life, Bell, the law-abiding citizen that you are. After all, if you did, you'd be a 'waster' by your own logic. I've no idea how you're 'informed' enough to comment on the smoking of cannabis to ease pain when you're blatantly not in a position to comment. Try speaking from experience before you cast judgement on others. It takes quite a lot of balls to say something like you said to Timmargh in real life - I wonder if you'd be so forthcoming if you met him, or anyone in a similar position, in person?

And please, do inform me of your superiority to me, the waster that I am.

I wouldn't have my cuffs, so I'd just restrain them.

No, I don't think cannabis should be legalised.

Health issues, "high driving", etc. What's the point?

Indeed. I can't even get people to believe I work for the IR when I have their national insurance numbers, how could anyone know you were a busy if you walked up in an adidas shirt and tried to cuff 'em?

I think if anything it would be that, so we could prove who we were.

I heard differently. I heard an officer can be in their pajamas and slippers, but if they're missing ONE thing (forget what it is, might not even be an item of clothing) they can't technically arrest anyone.
