Historically, it was a way of preventing over-population, as the Church had a role to play in the Kingdom and this was one of its main concerns. Nowdays the situation is different and people decide against pre-marital sex for other more personal reasons.

For me it wasn't really an issue I felt strongly about and even though both of us were Catholic (my wife being Spanish) it was nothing to worry about. But then you look at all the single mothers out there who are about 15 years old and wonder whether we shouldn't have some way of controlling the 'rabbit' culture of some people...

The most importanat thing I can tell you is that just because somebody tells you something deosn't make it true.

That might sound like a pretty common sense thing that doesn't need saying, but I only figured it out recently. Someone told me that God will only call me once and if I don't listen then he won't ever try and call me again. Someone told me that you should always put your love for god above your love for any other person, even your own child. Someone told me that i shouldn't have a non-Christian boyfriend.

I listened and believed all these things, but that they were said, doesn't make them true.

Speaking from a totally non religious point of view, I feel that anyone following a religion should be able to integrate it with their lives and their daily issues without conflict; and where there is conflict between what religion dictates and what the person wants to do, I'm sure their God will be forgiving if it meant that person lived a happier, less stressful life as a result.

lol

yes I know what you mean Icarus. If it was this simple it would be - for this is a few disregarding all religious aspects. Therefore this is not who I am.

End of the day - I am sorry if i am hurting God or distancing the closeness we could have but I know that he loves me and knows in my heart what I am and what I believe. He also knows I will not follow a herd of sheep for their beliefs If they are not mine.
I will not hurt or render my relationship with sam because some people think It would be better if i stopped. Those some people are not me. I love my boyfriend I will try my very best to work at us and God knows this also.

So I just hope that I wont feel weird or guilty because I shouldnt do. And dont want to.

Family?

My family are non christian and I have discussed 'intercourse' with them. My father does not know we are sexually intimate for the sake of my mans testicles... ahem

But he DID say the other day as soon as heis 18 he cannot do anything and he doesnt mind really his main concern *and obvious one* is that we are careful as mistakes happen..

My boyfriend. He loves making love to me amd wants to, BUT he has said in the past if I ever wanted to stop doing anything like that he would because he never wants me to do anything I dont want to do. Or hurt me. He is to scared of hurting me...

See what I mean? The guy is amazing

Don't refer to the Bible to see what's best for you, just discuss it with family, your boyfriend.
