Shouldn't people hiding your stuff finish when you leave school?

I'm actually really upset about this in a confusing yet l;ocking my self away on the toilet and sobbing way, so any immanture remarks are best kept to yourself.

Part of my work is helping out one of the girls I work with called Afroditi to isolate white blood cells from whole blood. I go and collect a box which contains a syringe full of blood in it.

Today I brought the box into the lab and went to put on my lab coat. When I got back to the box there was no blood in it, so I assumed that the hospital had forgotten to put the syringe in.

Another girl from the lab then called me over to ask some advice about something else, when I got back from doing that I told Afroditi that there was no blood in the box, so she opened it up and there the blood was.

Know I feel so syupid, I feel like a complete idiot for making a fool of myself, and for getting set up, and asked for my advice, when the only reason was to get me out of the way.

Dramatic I know, but I wanted to be dead, then I wanted the people who had done it to be dead, and I think there is something wrong with me, because this is such a small thing and I've gone completely to pieces over it. I just needed to tell someone, and here is the only outlet I have right now.

I'm sure they meant it as a joke. You should see it as a compliment, in my office we do that sort of thing to each other all the time, but we wouldn't do it to someone that we thought was boring. Whether you took it well or not, there IS a funny side to it. Why don't you get them both back with something original (I'm sure we can help you think of something) and see the look on their face - I'm sure it will make you laugh, and once you can see it from their point of view, you will be able to laugh it off if it happens to you again.

Are you any good at acting? (just trying to gauge which trick would work best).

Does everybody have email there?

Did they seem to be doing it for spite or just for fun? It's too late now but you should have just laughed it off at that time. If they have shared your problems with you last year I'm sure that they would have expected you to take it as a joke. Without being there in the lab with you it's hard to tell which way the prank was meant.

Don't let it get you angry and upset. Take some deep calming breaths, tell yourself to let it go and then forget about it.

I assume you're in a higher up or equal position than they are, right? If so, they're just jealous, and are trying to "harmlessly" smash away at your sanity so in the long run you won't last the distance. Yeah, that's what the psychology book says.

Anyway, just ignore, or if you can't take it, go shopping or whatever. If they still ano you, plan a revenge attack, or every day at work poke fun at something that they feel insecure about (it doesn't have to be anything significant, just persevere).

And there you have it - the way my mind works. Mwhahaha.

It's like brothers teasing each other. My brother would always have a go at me until I would absolutely scream for him to stop. And he'd keep on going. As soon as I ignored him, he'd get bored within seconds and would go off in a huff.

Laugh it up with your friends, tell them well done, they got you, ha ha ha, it was very good - whatever. If they do it again, have a word with them, or do a trick back. If they ARE your friends, they'll know when to stop.

I'm sorry, but you seem to be taking this waaaaaaay too much to heart. Hiding something than replacing it is childish sure, but they could have been so much worse.

If people see that it bothers you, they will take advantage of it.

Do something equally childish back. It might lower you to their level, but it'll show that you are just as capable of giving as well as taking.

I was told yesterday buy a friend that where he works is terrible for practical jokes. One colleague called him gay for a joke (I know, It shouldn’t be used as a joke but its not me that did it, k ;) ) and he flew off the handle.
They say this upset him, and the following day the lab he works in was covered with printouts of “Army of Lovers”, Micheal Barrymoore, Wham, Erasure, Frankie goes to Hollywood etc etc etc.

He just shrugged this one off, although he was furious, and got his own back (I can’t go into what he did on a website that children might read)

It didn’t happen again.

Of course I'm an emotional cripple. I've had depression and an eating disorder. Thats not normal. Whats more those are things they knew about.

If you read the original post I point out that I think I'm not normal.

How, exactly, did they make an idiot of you? So they hid something to confuse you... so what? Unless you're an emotional cripple, most people would have seen the funny side and laughed.
