Hey,
I want to network my PC and my Laptop, and i was wondering how it would be done using wires (not wireless cant afford it).
So far i know i need:
Router
PCI Network Card
PCMCIA Network Card
Ethernet Cable - I think???
How much would all of this cost (I have £100 to spend), and in the near future i am looking to hook my PS2 up to the network aswell. My Laptop is upstairs and the Pc is downstairs and i am wanting to share my adsl connection.
Both computers run WinME.
Where can i get the equipment from?
Thanks.

Not nececarly (although you will need it if you want to link your PS2). If you have a modem connected to the PC the laptop can share the intenert connection that way (but you wont be able to connect you PS2).

Yep

Yep

If you get a router you will need 2 CAT5 patch network cables with RJ45 connectors. If you link them direct you will need 1 CAT5 crossover network cable with RJ45 connectors.

from ebuyer.co.uk (I woud advise overclockers.co.uk but they don't do PCMCIA Network Cards) with a router and 2 10M black cables it would cost: £82.00 inc VAT and delivery.
Items, prices and quickfind codes:
Linksys Etherfast Cable/DSL Router with 4port 10/100 Switch - 037451 - £31.95
D-Link 10/100 Mbps PCI Ethernet Adapter - 043684 - £6.00
D-Link 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet PCMCIA Card - 043683 - £19.45
2 Belkin Cat5e FastCAT Snagless UTP Patch Cable (Black) 10m - 020864 - £3.94 each £7.88 for 2

, and in
