Akira was great. And the Street Fighter one wasan't bad either.
They are a bit porny and mind boggling. Yet, I accept them into my family.
Wahooo.

A form of temple common to Sumerians and Babylonians. Pyramidal, but built of tiers with a shrine at the top.

There's a million and one other great films and tv shows too.
Multi-region dvd players are easy to pick up nowadays, and in order to see some of the best stuff about, you need to be able to get US dvds. Numerous titles are released every week over there, whereas we don't get a huge amount (though it has been improving over the past year or so), so there's a huge selection of US dvds, and loads of great films/tv series aren't available here yet.
Basically what I'm saying, is that if you've seen some good region 2 titles like Ghost in the Sheel, Akira etc, and want to expand your horizon a bit, US dvds offer a whole new opportunity for anime excellence.
And I don't remember a mouse either.

Heh, thats a blast from the past. I used to love that *nearly* as much as "Ulysses 31"

Didn't they spend about 100 episodes running around in a Ziggarat and then when you thought the series was reaching its epic, they all go "oh actually we're in the wrong one, let's go to that one over there!"?
And wasn't one of them called "m mmm m Mendosa"? And wasn't there a mouse in it?
And some mysterious cities?
And its still as good as it was when I was a kid (though not strictly Anime)
