Who likes Manga movies? I do.

Akira was great. And the Street Fighter one wasan't bad either.

They are a bit porny and mind boggling. Yet, I accept them into my family.

Wahooo.

I prefered the name Belldandy, name change something to do with an email account he can't access.

Adult Swim in the US are still getting new anime, Toonami still haven't confirmed that they're showing Big O this spring.

ADV UK have bought the rights to the new Fist of the North Star anime. Use to watch it but not really my thing.

Anyone read/watch any new mangas/animes lately?

---NADESICO SERIES/MOVIE SPOILERS---

I finally saw the last episodes of Nadesico. Not totally sure what's happened. Have they jumped far far away and now they're on their own? Also I acquired the movie somehow, haven't watched it all yet, just the first few minutes. Are the 3 who could jump dead? You know the 2 main characters and the blonde woman. I dont think I want to see the movie if those three are dead :(

Don't think so, I remember when you asked on here about where to get the Macross set but I wasn't sure which set that was.

From what I've seen the Macross series you are on about is around the $200 dollar mark for 36 episodes so I'm going to wait and watch Robotech and see how different it really is before spending that kind of money.

Though I take back anything about Macross Zero being the best of the lot, this Macross 7, even with just subs and Japanese songs, is excellent though it does focus on the music/rock and roll kind of element more than any other Macross I've seen.

I didn't realise that you were Belldandy. In fact, I'm fairly sure we have had this entire conversation before.

Thanks for the weblink though, at least I have some idea what the original will look like.

When Robotech arrives and I watch it I'll post about it here, hopefully it follows the storyline of the Robotech graphic novels released last year because, by and large, they were pretty much along the lines of the Macross story. Time will tell.

I knew Robotech was a patchwork of stuff - apparently it's Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, Macross Southern Cross and another mech series.

I'll keep a lookout for the original Macross series but it's going ot have to drop in price a little before I can afford it, seems like about £15 a disc at the moment.

This page helps to explain the difference between Macross and Robotech. I recommend getting hold of the original Macross seris in preference to Robotech.

Its absolutly not that.

From what I know about it thats the original footage of Macross which was butchered and re vioce overed to make a completely differebt story. apparently its not a patch in the original.

Well on eBay US on Sunday evening I bought entire genuine ADV release of all 14 volumes of Robotech the Macross Saga for little over £47 including shipping. Bargain methinks.

If Spirited Away win the BAFTAs as well that will be cool. A BAFTA and an Oscar to promote the film when it's out on DVD.

Belldandy : The Macross/Robotech series has always been the one anime series I haven't got round to seeing. I do hear some good things about it though. Although I wouldn't know where to start.

Icarus : 4 posts down in the release date section Spirited Away is expected sometime February.

My brother got the Laputa R2 DVD. It was extremely cheaply made, far worse than a very small company like MVM would do with their anime release. The new US dub I really hate, it's very american there's so much more speaking when there wasn't before and they try and throw in stupid american jokes (these are jokes that you never really needed) god knows why Ghibli let them do this dub. So now I'll have to get the other R2 DVD the Japanese one that has the much better English dub.
