I’m just interested in finding out peoples thoughts on the subject. Not just surgery but “beauty” on the whole.

I was thinking about it the other day, (don’t know why), and there is a program on channel 5 at the moment called, “Drastic Plastic”, which reminded me to write a post about it.

I’m not talking about plastic surgery for those that have been disfigured in such a way as it was out of their control. I’m talking about cosmetic surgery for personal gain.

A while back it was frowned on a little by society and it would be rare to come across someone who had, had it, and even rarer to come across someone that would admit to having had it. So, as society finds these things more and more, “acceptable”, and access to different levels of “self improvement” becomes more widely available, where do you all see it going?

You don’t even have to go under the knife these days what with botox and the likes. People seem to be undergoing medical procedures more and more often in search of the unattainable perfection that is thrust at them every day on TV and in magazines.

People will say, “I’m doing it for myself not anyone else, I’m doing it because I’m not happy when I look in the mirror”. Why aren’t they happy? Is their unhappiness not due to everyone else?

I personally dislike cosmetic surgery with a real passion. I like my women natural and unaltered, even heavy make-up is enough to put me off.

I know what I’m about to say is focusing on women and I know men tart themselves up too, but women have more tricks up their sleeves. Push-up bras, stomach and buttock holding in pants…it’s not fair, it’s false advertising; you just don’t know what you’re getting anymore. It’s like that Christmas when you were a kid. You see your present under the tree and it all looks so promising, but when you unwrap it you find yourself filled only with disappointment.

So in a world of nips, tucks, lifts and reshapings, what are your views on all of this?

Oh, I would like to add one more thing though. Cliff Richard has botox treatment; you don’t want to be like Cliff, do you?

More than likely the pervs staring at your new beauties. Obviously its nice to get attention, but some people need to calm down on the actual size they choose. I mean my gf is something along the lines of 32DD and in my opinion thats larger than I'd choose if I could make my perfect woman up or whatever. Suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I cant see why some women have to go and get air bags installed on their chest ;\

People changing themselves on the outside to feel better will inevitabally never work.

You have to love who you are on the inside to be happy.

A bigger set of boobs will not make your problems dwindle away - no this time you'll be insecure about somethin else.

Cubist, you stupid girl-boy.

There is nothing worse and more depressing than older people who desperately attempt to cling to their youth.

It's ironic.

Young > Want to be older

One old-ER, is fine. For about 10 years, apart from all the other insecurities.. (AM I FAT?)

Then Older-ER > Want to be younger.

Where does it all go?

Waste of time.

Well that would depend, which has the shorter skirt? Also, can I not have both?

> and which one would you rather be with long term?

Well that I wouldn't be able to answer until I had go to know...just how dirty they were.

I can understand someone having plastic surgery if, say, their nose is like a many-knolled hillock. You know, everywhere they go all people see is 'that' nose. I can understand that person wanting to sort it out once and for all. Likewise I can understand why a woman who has developed nil breastage would want to go under the knife.

But all this trivial nipping and tucking, tweaking and skin-stretching is just plain sad. What's wrong with growing old? And Cliff Richard - the vain Christian sick-f*ck - not only does he want us to suffer his namby-pamby, brain-frazzling sing-a-long pap vomit, he wants to go on and on and on into his 60s, 70s and beyond doing it. Talk about clinging on. Would Jesus have Botox, Cliff?

Ok, you say that you prefer women natural and unaltered - but in a bar which woman would you pick out of 2 with exact equal attractiveness - the one with big boobs, or the flat chested one?

and which one would you rather be with long term?
