GTA is now 'digital snuff porn' according to this writer for the New York Post. Check it out, it's actually very amusing in a Daily Mail, red-faced angry parent kind of way.
"The money quote is thus: "This is 10,000 times worse than the worst thing anybody thinks Michael Jackson ever did to a little boy." Let us endeavor to approach greater understanding. I don't know what the worst thing people think Michael Jackson did is, but I know what he was charged with - seven counts of child molestation and two counts of using intoxicants, drugs or alcohol, in order to get the other yucky thing done. I can't believe I'm being made to enumerate these charges, to name that beastly procession like some perverse Adam. But there you have it, this is the reality that these articles have constructed: Producing - or playing? - a game where you portray a mobster is just as bad as drugging and then subsequently raping ten thousand children simultaneously."

Funny you should say that...

Hahahaha. Your moronic, ill-informed statements on the topic of videogame violence, in particular that of Grand Theft Auto Vice City, not only made me and my companions laugh, but it made me realise how glad I am to be British and have some sense of reality.
For a start, the game does not look 'incredibly and shockingly real' as you state - the game has a cartoon look, and it's easy to distinguish between videogame graphics and real life. Only someone mentally unhinged or unstable would play the game and act out actions from the game in reality - in which case, couldn't seeing a story about the Beltway Sniper on the news trigger such a person in the same way? If you'd care to do some research, you won't find many popular games produced in the last ten years that don't involve the killing of something or other - this doesn't excuse Vice City's questionable moral content, but it's hardly a standout case. Part of the reason videogames are successful is because they offer an escape from the monotony of everyday life, and let people get away with things they can't do in reality.
Comparing a free-roaming, occasionally violent videogame to child pornography or c ock-fighting is not only outrageously prepostorous, it's insulting to victims of child pornography and similar horrible crimes. It shines a million watt search light on how seriously you should be taken. The totally irrelevant comments on Ryan Brant's father's history also back up my inital thought that, indeed, you are a jackass.
That is, of course, unless you made up the whole story. Not really known for that, is the NY Post.

What a jackass.
The whole situation with Grand Theft Auto reminds me of South Park The Movie and Terrance & Phillip. How they put the blame on it and whatever. Kind of reminds me of Bowling For Columbine too, if you see what I mean.
...
And its SO REAL!
ahem.
apparently, "everything will look incredibly and shockingly real, with blood spewing everywhere."
Excuse me, but GTA3 isn't particularly state of the art graphics.
If this was including in an SR review it would probably claim a GAD!
This goes to prove my theory that all Americans are stupid. An American politician was making a speech on why America is so great and she said:
"I can think of two words that sum up why America is so great, Viet Naam"
I think that about proves my theory.
If a game is classed as explotiation pornography then whats next? Is Buckaroo going to be beastiality and Happy Families going to be incest?
