You do not have to say anything, but it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court, anything you do say may be given in evidence. Do you understand?

I got arrested, and bailed, but didn't get a record since my mates later owned up the stealing of the bowling pins and the breaking of the bus stops on the advice of one of the police men who interviewed us. If it weren't for him, we'd have ended up in court over something as petty as drunkingly stealing two bowling pins. Yeah, that'd look good on my record...
