I was hoping the Darkness would be number 1, bit more festive than Mad World, but it's a great song anyway...

Exactly what a Christmas No.1 should be - a depressing, angst ridden single.

Er...

Before tonight I had never heard of the song, and for a christmas no.1, I though it was a bit dull, dire and boring. But hey, at least 'The Idols' didn't get it so I'm happy.

Love the song but with lines like

'the dreams in which im dyin are the best ive ever had..'

.. As much as I seriously do like this song maybe something a more festive and fun would of been appropriate.

I found it on some Film Music CD that came with Total Film or Empire last year

I've liked that song for so long now that although it's only just been released It's not fresh or new to me. That and the fact that it is quite a downer are the two reasons I didn't particulary want it to win. I do accept that it is a good song though just was hoping the darkness would win it. Are they at least number 2?
