Who do you guys or gals think is worse overall in terms of murdering and various atrocities throughout the past century?, the Irish paramilitaries (the IRA), America, Japan or N.Korea? Its just I was ahving a discussion with a few of my friends yesterday and they seemed to think that I was ignorant beacuse I didn't think the IRA were as bad as America.

Maybe it's just my imagination, but that very article was just quoted to completely dispel the myth of Veteran suicides...

I say again, confirm the source of your figures, or accept that they are false.

As for USA whistling and UK coming running, well, what do you expect? In the one war I know of between the US and UK, we got slapped about like teenage skin in a taiwanese brothel.

Blinded by propaganda? huh? if I was blinded by propaganda I would 'run along' like you have, the total figure of vietnamese suicides is unknown as I stated in the last reply the figure is around 60,000.That is unconfirmed, it will never be confirmed, I studied the Vietnam war in great detail as well, the same as I have studied the wars which America has 'helped' in. You obviously don't see the pattern which has developed and which has recently reared its ugly head once again, look at Iraq, many said it would be the modern day Vietnam, it was. America invaded the country which it had helped to defend and most importantly build, they supplied funds and weapons to Iraq, to Saddam and to the Baath party.Remember the 'war on osama'? guess who gave his party weapons and funds? the same country which roped the British into participation, America whistles and Britain comes running like a dog looking for a stick, its pathetic and disgusting. Look at America's history of conflict with other countries, look at the pattern which has developed, it builds up a country then invades it a decade or two later.

Why don't you 'run along now', eh?

Germany are not saint like, why I said that I don't know, I know they attempted the mass extermination of a religion and race of people, but I still feel America are worse (from a public knowlege standpoint anyway), I know about the numerous atrocities committed by third world and Asian countries over the past century but who talks about them? It is not common knoweledge just the same as the fact that most returning American soldiers killed themselves returning form Vietnam. Granted most of them were conscripts but the fact they committed suicide must be interpreted as a sign of guilt as for the figure of the number of deaths of Americans who returned from the that fiasco, it is somewhere around 500,000 veterans, not nearly as many died during the war. The surviving vietnamese also committed suicide after the war although many years after, the figure for vietnamese suicides is an unconfirmed total of around 60,000 the actual total for those who died during the war is estimated at around 9.14 million, a terrible loss of life for a country who never wanted americas 'help' in the first place, tragic.

Why yes, I did study the Vietnam War in school, in some depth.

"I will let this final image speak for itself: if 150,000 Vietnam veterans were suicide victims between 1967 and 1997, that would mean that on average, fourteen Vietnam veterans would have committed suicide every single day for thirty solid years!"

I have learnt a lot, certainly more than you by the looks of it.

And no, I do not think America is great. The country has its faults, but I am not blinded by propaganda. I have been to the states, and it’s a great country.

Run along now.

The Nazis were engaged in the systematic genocide of an entire race. I seriously doubt the “majority” of US soldiers serving in the war killed themselves either.

America has dirty hands, but to say they are a Saint compared to what Nazi Germany performed? Get real.

the termites are worse, they have an unfair size advantage to the ants, although the ants have superior numbers.

it's a mixed bag, really
