So I'm walking home from my girlfriend's house this morning. It's about 8:45am. The quickest way home is through an old park, which goes by some woods, which are quite big and scary. It's very isolated, yet some stupid lazy parents still let their children go through there on their own. I couldn't believe that someone would be that lazy and irresponsible. The school is a ten minute walk, including the return journey, yet someone would risk sending their kids out (they were about 8 or 9 years old), through isolated woodland, which leads onto a main road. If I've learnt anything about society in the last few years, it's that there are lots of nutjobs - especially in my part of the world. Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman are prime examples of what can happen if you leave children of that age to their own devices.

I'm not getting all impassioned about it, because kids should be allowed and encouraged to play out and explore, but it amazed me that someone would let their kids walk alone through that particular area, when it would only take 10 minutes out of their precious schedule to make sure they got to school OK.

I really think that this would be impossible to enforce. Good idea, but just not feasible.

Well, my suggestion bordered closer to stemming the current production line for delinquents and psychopaths, but yeah having my own observation booth would be great.

You're proposing a super-race of humans that will rule the world? Man, you so need your own tower with banks of monitors and stuff.

There is a simple way to resolve this current issue, that will go on to tackle things like:-

- bullying in school
- crime
- idiot dropout wasters

What is this miracle cure for the problems faced by modern society?

Compulsory parenting qualifications. Meaning until you pass a test in parenting, you can't legally have children. It's pointedly clear that many parents these days just aern't up to the job, and given modern knowledge regarding how psychopathic behaviour can be tracked back to bad parenting, it's absolutely essential that people are taught how to avoid these things happening, as well as learning to properly look after their children.

The benefits of such a system, once in place could take a decadeor two to filter in, but it would make a massive difference.
