I am sharing a simple message of the love of Jesus and the sacrifice He paid for sin, in this post. Jesus

Jesus is going to return one day, soon and will judge the world, on account of all its sins. Revelation (the last book of the bible) gives a vivid prophetic view on the return of Christ, stating "every eye shall see". Jesus will decide who is allowed unto the Kingdom of God for all eternity through the straight and narrow path and who passes through the gates of the broad and wide path.

The Kingdom of God is heaven which is described as a place of no more tears, or pains, night or day or hunger or famin. We are told he has the best mansions lined up for his people and has glories beyond our human interpretation.

He also tells us about Hell, a place of weeping and nashing of teeth, a place of eternal punishment and terrible suffering. He also says some will have few stripes and some who reject the word of Lord will have many stripes.

My friends in order to pass from death until life you must allow in the Holy Spirit and must pray for God to come into your life. No amount of charity money or giving or helping will enter you into the Kingdom of God for all eternity except by this way; excepting the Lord Jesus into your life, the same man that took away all man's sins on the cross. John 3:16 "For God so loved the World that he sent his one and only son, for who ever believeth in him may not perish but have everlasting life" Jesus was the perfect sacrifice. He paid the price for sin, in order to get the burden of sin off your shoulders and with you for all eternity in Hell, you need to trust in the Lord Jesus, who died for sin. This is the most important decision you will ever make, either accept you are a sinner and Jesus has taken away your sin or reject Jesus and face Him one day and all eternity in Hell.

God bless and thankyou for your time. If you are interested in any of the points raised in this article or you would like to ask Jesus into your life please feel free to write to me at [email protected]

Like Light says, if the Churches themselves can't agree on what being a Christian is, what hope do normal followers have of understanding it?

Unfortunately, the definition of what a Christian IS differs from church to church.

Oooh thanks for that i didn't even need to spend some money on bus fare to get up to town to hear such rubbish. I may respect the right for people to believe in what they like but i don't have to take it serious. Maybe if i went up town one day and shouted *I'm the son of God i am, believe in me or you shall all go to hell* then maybe i'll have a mass following too.

The core or any religion is usually great, based around good morals of love and caring, even the Taliban and it's famous woman abusing supposedly started as something good.

The Bible is fine if you understand it.

When you realise that the gospel is merely 4 people telling the story of what Jesus did (based on eye witness reports), you can focus on what Jesus was trying to say, rather than taking everything word for word, half of which was probably misheard or mis-translated.

If you take everything in the bible word by word then you're just like those tosssers that Jesus had to deal with whenever he tried to do something good that would break a Jewish religious law, like healing someone on the Sabbath.

These revelations, the psalms, Pauls letters and preaching, NONE of those are God's word. They are merely the interpretations and idea's of people who were inspired by them.
Sure, you can learn from them, but taking them word for word is stupid.

At the end of the day, Jesus told us to love one another.
Early Christians got it right. That's why Christianity spread and eventually took over the Roman Empire.

And then, over the years, the church got corrupted and people started taking it the wrong way.

Compared to the 12th centuries church witch burning, scientist torturing, spannish inquisiting peak of corruption, the church seems have most uncorrupted itself, bar a few remaining issues.

And even then, most of the priests I know are fine.
The don't condemn contraception and understand that only God truly knows what God wants from us.

So when they tell their sermons, they say "this is the way I understand it, what I THINK" rather than the classic "God says do this or be damned!".

Being a Christian is fine if you actually understand what being a Chistian IS.

Saw a lot of Buddism in Thailand. They take it VERY seriously. If people there said the things we say about "our god" here, they'd be bloody outcasts.

"I was raised Christian, but am not one. I think religion is a form of control of people, especially the Catholic church years ago"

Exactly my belief. And I too was raised as a Christian (went to church for 14 years, hated every minute of it)

My mate surprised me today with this little gem -

"I think any one who believes in a book that contridicts itself needs help"

Classic.

All I seem to read is philosophical books. I've just read The Dhammapada, which is a Buddhist text written in the third century BC.
