Right, I am thinking of getting broadband with one of those NTL tv and phone packages, but we have two computers that curently dial up seperately with 56k modems.

So if we DO ger broadband, the BB will be installed on just one of the computers and the other will not have access. SO we are going to have to get a network thing to share the broadband.

So can you answer these folling questions I have about it:

- Will the speed of the broadband be split in half if we network it?
- Will the main computer have to be switched on for the other to use it?
- Does the broadband computer have to be switched on constantly?
- Does networking take up load of space on both computers?

Any advice etc will be appreciated.

Get a router. Splits the connection between them.

Bandwidth is taken up by each PC yes, but don't forget, the internet doesn't use much bandwidth while you are only surfing, but file transfers will slow it down a bit.

not with a router
