So if we DO ger broadband, the BB will be installed on just one of the computers and the other will not have access. SO we are going to have to get a network thing to share the broadband.
So can you answer these folling questions I have about it:
- Will the speed of the broadband be split in half if we network it?
- Will the main computer have to be switched on for the other to use it?
- Does the broadband computer have to be switched on constantly?
- Does networking take up load of space on both computers?
Any advice etc will be appreciated.

to split the connection between computers you want to get yourself a router - we got a 4 port Linksys for £60 and it is pretty good.

Bandwidth is taken up by each PC yes, but don't forget, the internet doesn't use much bandwidth while you are only surfing, but file transfers will slow it down a bit.

not with a router

again not with a router

not sure what you mean

Of course Networking itself can stage many problems....
I tried really hard to come up with something to say after that. Bah.
we have an 8 way router in our house with 5 PCs and my xbox connected, works a treat, you really feel you're squeezing every last penny out of the ISP's.
