The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Over the coming weeks we are upgrading our search engine. It's having a triple destructurisation operation and invisible lurking terms enhancements.
The prize will go to the person who finds the MOST VALID PROBLEMS across our WHOLE PRODUCT RANGE in the SEARCH FACILITY.
If you think you should be able to search on "Horror Movies", but nothing comes up, then add it to your list.
If you think people will mis-spell gran turismo, then add that too - but test it first.
Use short lists if possible but multiple posts will count together. i.e. all your posts on this subject will add up and count towards the prize.
Closes 9 am on April 1st, 2001.
I recommend you read the details of our searching process which you can click to from a link at Site Map. Basically we use the start of a word, so a search on "thunder" will find "thunderball". If several words are combined it must find all.
On UKReviews.com, if I want to review a movie, or see other people's reviews of a movie, then I will type it in the box where you search for reviews. But the thing is, most movies don't come up. You have to use the main search, and then go through all the links.
I think it would be better if you made ALL the movies and games come up in the Review box, even if Special Reserve haven't rated it properly.
I can't reply to them all but I'll get them sorted.

after PS Multimedia titles?
i assume you know I mean PC rather than PS.
Silly clumsy me.
Also searching BBC shows only PC Multimedia titles. Some people will probably be looking for BBC DVDs such as Blackadder.
If we trapped the word CHEAT, and sent people to the Cheats Page you would think this would be logical.
But what if they were looking for a CHEAT CARTRIDGE or some DVD Movie called MR CHEATLITTLE.
I think we'll try to add related links to the results, so that you get products and related links.

Try clicking the red link which says "Release Dates"
Everything always comes out in chart order, based on the assumption that more people will be trying to find the better-selling items.
