There hasn't been a spaceworld since the Mario Sunshine/Wind Waker announcement. So the reply from a slew of forum users who will remain nameless declared "There has not been a Spaceworld in years, admit it Nintendo have screwed up". "Don't be so optimistic Dringo" and so forth.
Now both Miyamoto and Kaplin has confirmed that Spaceworld is certainly on the cards and Iwata has declared all the revolution info will be released by the end of the year.
And after hardcore reaction it seems almost essential.
I have to admit, that the new Nintendo console looks the best out of all of the rivals, and that makes a change!

Pretty much the same story as when you refer to "omg me, mi bruvva and my mate!" and make a big deal of it then, isn't it?
And 53,000 were DS I think.

How many were DS?
I don't see what's so impressive about DS+GBA selling better than GBA alone.
It seems pretty obvious...

I mean month in month memo...
Last month Nintendo sold something like 60,000 handhelds of the GBA and DS combined... whilst the PSP sold 50,000 or somet.
Last year GBA sales were roughly 26,000. (That is what the GBA usually sold last year I can't be definite with that)...
There was 110,000 handhelds sold last month.
That's incredible.

This is one guy Afro Joe, one guy. When Nintendo show off the revolution they may win over customers... and there will be nothing to compare it too when it is released.
There is a fantastic article at cube-europe made by a Gamespot industry analyst that believes Nintendo are actually onto a good thing. He says that Sony and Microsoft have a problem that third parties will take longer to make games as they cost so much more and will take much longer. Whilst Nintendo are counteracting this and third parties will release games for the Revolution just so they can keep their name in the press. It is cheaper and takes less time to make a revolution game due to the lower specs.

shocking!

DS and GBA combined sales are actually higher than GBA sales were the year before. PSP has cut itself its own market, it has sold itself to those who would never have previously dreamed of getting a handheld system.
Because of this "new market" it has enabled Nintendo handheld sales to increase.
The release of the PSP has actually allowed Nintendo to sell more handhelds! I read an article about it somewhere. The PSP is selling amazingly, at least in Japan (I heard it was doing ok in America) and it has allowed the more adult gamers to get into handheld gaming.
Nintendo handheld sales are rising... for the first time it looks like both Sony and Nintendo are right... they are appealing to different markets.

It's not going to remain like that forever, though, which was my point. Sony have entered the handheld market, which was previously guarenteed to make Nintendo a load of money, and who's to say Microsoft won't decide to try out a handheld console as well? After all, they do sell very well in the current gaming market. My point was, that while Nintendo are making money now, this is only because they aren't pushing their consoles to the limit and aren't even attempting to get some of the major third parties (the ones that release games like GTA - games that sell systems) on board to create titles. They're currently rich because they had no opposition in the handheld market. If Nintendo didn't have the Game Boy, they'd most probably not be creating Revolution at this moment in time. And now that Sony are invading this market, with Microsoft potentially doing the same in the next few years, Nintendo's financial status is not as secure as you might think.

How do you know the PSP will not defeat the DS and the GBA in the long run? Right now in Japan the DS is doing better, and in the US as well, but over here is Sony's main territory, and I believe that despite a great launch for the DS, the PSP will destroy it, because it offers the cool, slick graphics and multimedia capabilities that the DS and GBA can't. The difference between Nintendo and Sony is that Sony know how to market properly, and all they need is a big game like GTA on the PSP to send sales through the roof.
Also, yes, Nintendo sell consoles to people looking for Nintendo games, but to me that's a problem. Because if they even attempted to get some good third parties on board, they could be appealing to a lot more gamers. It's true that the Gamecube has much better third party support than the N64 ever did, but the fact that Nintendo are trying to still sell to the exact same userbase as they've done before worries me a little. Fortunately I've got enough money which will allow me to buy a Revolution for the Nintendo games AND an Xbox 360/PS3 for other titles that won't appear on the Revolution. But many people don't.

I'm not too confident that this guy is a... what do we call it... "full time gamer"? And even if he is, I think you'll find that what Sony show at E3 actually does effect the casual gamers. Because even if they don't care about E3 itself, they're going to see the good press that Sony and Microsoft are getting as a result of E3, and decide which console they want on the spot. Revolution being pretty much absent from E3 will lead to Nintendo losing potential customers. Fact.
