Well, it is the 'intelligent discussion' forum, so it must take a degree of brains to get all those words in the right order.
The Chat forum on the other hand...I look away for 5 minutes and it's suddenly full of gibbering retards, who can't string a coherent sentence. Oh wait, that's how it was before...

Whatever the motivation, anything that encourages creative writing is a good thing in my opinion. Okay, so you may think some or all of the stories are the literary equivalent of heartburn, but it's practice. I'm all in favour of anyone getting the hang of expressing themselves.

Only a select 1 or 2 are eventually worth reading.
Pour example, He Hit Me, and Legacy.

If I want short stories that play with my head, I'll re-read Clive Barkers "Books Of Blood", even though his career has spiraled out of control at the moment.

As far as I'm aware, I'm still not in contention for GAD anyway. I just like to write. Although I suspect you are likely correct with your assumption regarding the motivations of some of the others.
