What a horrible disappointment.

The soundtrack is nothing above poor, and the graphics are vibrant but mostly lack detail. The courses are, on the whole, poorly designed and incredibly short-lapped. There's a distinct lack of options, and battle mode is brought down by the awful arena design and unforgivable lack of bots. The gameplay is generally good, but too slow, especially now F-Zero GX is released.

This seems to mark a worrying trend for the series; this is worse than Mario Kart 64, and that wasn't as good as the original. Even Crash Team Racing, a PSOne game and a blatent rip-off, has better design in some respects. I see no explanation other than the fact that this was rushed out to give sales a boost at Christmas. Oh Nintendo? What have you done?

A shame. But these are first impressions, and I have only played about an hour and a half. Perhaps I'll grow to love it. At present however, it IS good, but only around 6-7/10.

Just managed to complete all the cups on 100cc. Took about three hours but I did it, albeit with many expletives and declarations of my hatred for the game. It does leave you with a nice, warm feeling though.

I really don't want to think about what 150cc is like...

Without powersliding, I'm getting within 1 - 3 seconds of high scores...

I've finally got the hang of powersliding and its help me a lot, you can't expect to do that well without perfecting it, off to play it again soon after my homework that is!

That track is perfect for powersliding, and I'm great at it, so that's a positive thing.

i never powerslide on baby park, i just brake, turn and press L/R at the exact right moment to miss the railing by a millimetre.

only 2 problems with this.
1. it only works on 150cc, i dont know where to start turning on the others yet.
2. i did it on, uh, to avoid spoilers of any sort, the "extra" mode, and crashed straight into the wrong wall.
