What a horrible disappointment.
The soundtrack is nothing above poor, and the graphics are vibrant but mostly lack detail. The courses are, on the whole, poorly designed and incredibly short-lapped. There's a distinct lack of options, and battle mode is brought down by the awful arena design and unforgivable lack of bots. The gameplay is generally good, but too slow, especially now F-Zero GX is released.
This seems to mark a worrying trend for the series; this is worse than Mario Kart 64, and that wasn't as good as the original. Even Crash Team Racing, a PSOne game and a blatent rip-off, has better design in some respects. I see no explanation other than the fact that this was rushed out to give sales a boost at Christmas. Oh Nintendo? What have you done?

This game is too easy, and i brought the gamecube bundle today :(
Just complete 100cc and 150cc Cup Tours. Got all wins and one third on 100c and got 150 points on 150. Both stupidly easy. Also, I just finished the first cup on Mirror.
Strangely enough, I find Rainbow Road ridiculously easy. On 100cc, I managed almost a half-lap lead over everyone else. I expect it's the fact that it doesn't rely on power sliding.
Me and Mav have just completed Star cup - 150 cc. I like the pink car. Birdo buggie, think.
Yay, I just got Mirror mode. Now the hard work begins.

Heh heh, I got 160 too. It was the most tedious thing I'd ever done. Just unlocked mirror mode after winning it with 120 points in 150cc.
