My personal favourites are the ones in 'Devil and Daughter' by Black Sabbath, 'Disposable Heroes by Metallica, and 'Eruption' by Van Halen. Who disagrees?

So that's why Jimmy Page was 9th in Rolling Stone's top 100 guitarists list...

Hmm... Thats a hard question. I'll say Metallica - Fade to Black although I will have probably changed my mind by tomorrow... :)

And Hendrix was top! You can't have Page that far behind. But in honour of Hendrix I'll suggest All Along The Watchtower, Hey Joe and Purple Haze for best solo. And Voodoo Child. And Highway Child. Like Led Zeppelin; pretty much all of his solos are great.

I'm not taking that list seriously!
No John Squire? :-S

My favourite guitar work changes from day to day, but at the minute it's from a Zepplin Song I can't remember the name of! :-)

It's one of the first ones on that video, "The Song Remains The Same", and it's got Page solo-ing over a relaxed bluesy backbeat.

Jimi Hendrix comes runner up with his neat guitar jiving on "Rainy Days, Dream Away".

Neither am I. They had Kurt Cobain at number 12 or something.

Another weird thing was that somehow Eddie van Halen was 70th, Angus Young was 98th and Tony Iommi was 86th.

How can these three be so low? Eddie van Halen is a genius (Hint: Eruption) and Tony Iommi invented the heavy metal riff, as well as doing many great solos.

It was also strange how Jack White and The dude with the unpronouncable surname from The Red Hot Chillipeppers were in the top 20. They're not exactly great. But apart from that, the list worked pretty well. :)
