OK,

I know I'm in the wrong here...

I bought an item from the eBay-monkies 'jayandmarie' (look at their feedback)

Item number - 2557693537

It's aaaages old, I know

They've filed a NPB thing against me, but I have e-mailed them 4+ times telling them my payment will be delayed until I get hold of a PayPal account. I've had no reply from them. What can I do?

Just got an email from EBay and it is indeed a fraud. They said my account is up to date and they have not sent anything to my email address in the last month.

my thoughts on the subject :

If you intended to pay by paypal I would say it would have made sense to ensure it was set up BEFORE you bid on the item.

however, after looking at their mixed feedback, these people sound like they couldn't really care about some of their customers.

I would have sent a cheque like someone else suggested, that'd shut them up.

Funnily enough, I had been thinking that as I clicked the title of the topic...

Maybe we're soul-mates....

I'd change your eBay account password, and let you card company know so they can send you a new card and cancel the old one, plus forward the email to [email protected] plus goto my ebay, check your details are correct and that your registered email is the same, and do teh same for Paypal.

Nothing might happen, but it's best to be safe rather than sorry - your bank may cover fraud but it's going to be a hassle to sort out if it happens.

eBay will never ask you to confirm details in an email whilst your account is still active - if you receive any more then email eBay customer support through the website to confirm it.

Yes it has to be false. The link doesn't actually work if you try it. Phew, I just hope someone wasn't watching my EBay page. I will go absolutley mad if someone has the details, thankfully though my bank do cover for fraud. Cheers guys for the help, I can't believe I was such a gullable fool in the first place!

It's false, if it were ebay it would have the domain name instead of the IP, and it would be https meaning a secured server. I'm about 95% sure.

Just checked my favourites as well. It had added the link to there. From my experience its illegal sites that add links to favourites, EBay certainly don't without asking, especially ones without a proper heading.
