However I don't even think Nemo's crew will be able to keep that title from what is seemingly going to be one of the best films ever - Return of the King.
'That wasn't funny. And I know funny. I'm a clown fish!'
Till the end of the month.
> So you've seen Spirited Away then, yes?
No actually, considered it on Region 1 but I really prefer region 2 discs when possible and it'll be out on region 2 in sub/dub versions early next year. Some films just work better with japanese audio and english subs, others (rarely) work better with english dubbing. Apparently a cinema in Notts had it on but didn't bother advertising it much so I missed it.
One of my favourites this year has to be Voices Of A Distant Star (only 28mins long), followed by Wonderful Days, followed by Patlabor WXIII, Ah My Goddess The Movie and Grave Of The Fireflies.

.............
Matrix Reloaded
Tomb Raider Cradle Of Life
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Pirates of the Caribbean
Dreamcatcher
X Men 2
Which means the rest were so mediocre they made little to no impression on me. Despite the creative licence that's been slightly used I'd rate the new Lord Of The Rings films the best of recent times as far as "epic" movies go. Far better than the new Star Wars cack Lucas has been spooning out.
Of the six above films I'd rate Matrix Reloaded the best despite it's inferiority to the original, but to my mind the other five aren't exactly long term classics.
I'm actually enjoying anime films more and more this year, no mass advertising trying to sell them, plenty of choice, different styles, music, kinds of plot, genre, and very few people arguing the merits of them to each other.
At the moment its PoTc, then Nemo and then Reloaded, just hope Revolutions is more interesting than Reloaded i was disappointed, but RotK will take the crown as film of the year without a doubt can't wait for the trilogy DVD set!
