Because my mum now calls my MP3 player an MPV player and DVDs are now know as discs.
Anyone else have such problems?

Hehehehhe, but think of it this way, you no longer have to wait 20 minutes for a C=64 game to load after fiddling around with the tape heads for an hour beforehand, only for it to crash.
