It's my mate Seb's 20th birthday today, which also means it's the one year anniversey of the time I got arrested (the other bowling pin is still in Seb's room, the police never asked about it)

Darn toot it, my posse went out today for a few drinks. I knew they were doing something, but since I had college I said I couldn't make it. Only I didn't end up going to college until the afternoon. And I didn't even do anything while I was there, we just hung about for a few hours then left before 4, when the MoJo bought himself a bag to take on holiday to hold his junk. So I *could* have gone out with them during the day, con sarn it. Stupid college.

Anyway, the MoJo went around Seb's at 6 tonight. Wal and Seb were taking lines of coke, and drinking Stella. I joined in the drinking of Stella. The Fos came around (he'd left to get changed) and we had some more Stella. Alex showed up and we had some more Stella.

Fos had a go at my choice of clothes - mainly my trainers, but I explained I wasn't going out into town with them because I had no money and had college the next day.

"So why are you here?"
"To see Seb... it's his birthday."

The Wal, who'd had no food, had tea with Seb's family (all 10 of them) and was forced to sing "Happy birthday" to Seb with the rest of the family.

Devastating.

Seriously, there are 10 people in Seb's family, because they have 4 adopted kids and the eldest is from their mother's first marriage. Seb's only real family other than his parents are his two sisters. Whom we all fancy, because they're stunning. Which leads me to some bad news. Bryony, the younger of the two stunning sisters, whom I've always preferred over Eve, the elder of the two stunning sisters, has just got engaged to her 20 year old boyfriend. Curse him, curse him to Hedes!

So, with Bryony's new fiance, we had some more Stella, and everyone but the MoJo had some more coke. Again, the MoJo turned down free drugs. That makes me feel special.

We drank yet more Stella, watched yet more TV, then Fos, Seb and Alex went to get the metro into town, while The Wal, the MoJo and Bryony's new fiance talked some more. Wal left to drive, while well over the limit, to his bird's, then he was gonna get a lift from his dad into town to meet everyone else. But he kept bugging the MoJo to go into town with them all, since the MoJo is so loved, and finally the MoJo agreed, since people are lending him money. So now The Wal is swinging by here at about 9 so he can drive us into town. And Wal is well over the limit. Should be interesting.

By Goatboy's wishes, I shall report what happens later on. Indeed.

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering how I can type so well whilst intoxicated, I've had LOTS of practice, just ask Rakuga.

Some gak?

I know what you're getting at Goatboy, I really do. I'm actually the sensible one out of my group, believe it or not. But when the Wal is fine, he IS fine. Like I said, I wouldn't have let him drive if he was out of it. He'd pretty much sobered up when he came around mine to pick me up, and barely drank while we were out.

It's not like he's drink driving every night, in fact, I can only think of one other time he's done it, and that was literally a thirty second drive, on empty streets, just him in the car.

If Wal had had 9 pints, was talking absolute nonsense and dancing like a moron, I wouldn't let him drive. But he wasn't anything like that.

It's your life Mojo, and your mates etc but *please* don't try and justify it.
You got lucky, and if you had any sense you wouldn't do it again. It's just not worth it.
I'm not lecturing, I'm not your dad or anything but it's plain bloody stupid to drink and drive.

And again, it's nothing to do with being able to "handle" your drink. Alcohol affects reaction times and synapse activity, regardless of if you feel it or not. You may be able to drink 100 pints and not feel drunk, but the effects in your bloodstream are the same.
Please mate, I enjoy these stories but Wal is a tool for driving over the limit and you should have stopped him.
If you're liable to be arrested, then "but I can handle ma drink" won't stand up in court.

Just take a cab next time, that way nobody runs the risk of being killed, he's not risking his license and you won't have to hear people tsk tsk about drink driving.
I don't care if anyone wants to call me old fashioned or a stick in the mud, drinking and driving is retarded and you shouldn't do it.

Just wolf some gak and watch a dvd, nobody can be arrested/killed that way.
End of lecture

Look, some people drink a few pints and can barely walk. I can drink what I want and be fine, same with Wal. The truth is, by the time we drove into town, although it was still in his sytem, he'd pretty much sobered up anyway.

Driving on empty roads, knowing Wal was OK and knowing I was sober enough to grab the wheel/warn him about anything - I wasn't particulary bothered about riding with him. I know Wal, you lot don't.

Yes, drink driving is wrong, and nobody should ever do it, but I wouldn't get in the car if I didn't trust him. He's perfectly fine when he's been drinking, and it's a very rare thing for him to do. If he couldn't handle his drink, like the morons who DO cause accidents, I would steal his keys from him to stop him driving.

Are you mad?

People 'think' they can handle themselves under the influence - but in fact their reactions are incredibly slow and impaired. You could of been killed mate.

+ The fact that he's under the influence of drink and drugs.

Its amazing you all are still alive.

Sorry mate but drunk drivers is a personal hatred of mine and, I'm aware it's OTT, given my choice I would have anybody convicted of drunk driving raped by gorillas and crushed.
It has nothing to do with how much you can "handle", it has to do with alcohol impairing reactions and basic motor-neurone functions - not with how drunk you are.

My belief is a zero tolerance policy for drinking and driving. The limit should be zero units, end of story.
They're your mates and it's your own life, but to drink-drive is one of the stupidest, most selfish and thoughtless things you can do.

I'm not interested in the rest of the night to be honest Moj, I'm just glad nobody was killed.

Hmm, maybe I'm the one who's not fine. I meant last night, not today. Crazy MoJo.

Over the limit, yes. Unable to drive, no. Like me, Wal can drink a lot and keep his wits about him. Yes, if he did get pulled over, he'd be arrested, but his driving was fine, there was no reason for him to be pulled over.

I've refused to get in the car with him before, but today he seemed fine, and evidentily he was since I'm still here today.

Don't worry, Goaty, I'll post the rest of the night later on.

"The Wal" is a tool and I hope he crashes and gets arrested.
Doing drugs is one thing, knowingly and willingly driving over the limit is stupid and infantile because not only are you putting yourself at risk but others.
And you are equally stupid for getting into a car with someone you know is over the limit.
