Are any of you proud nose owners lucky enough to have had your nose cautirized??

I got a doctor's appointment because I am regularly getting nose bleeds - Often when Ii am stressed (not much then!)

I probably have to have itr 'cauterized' It doesnt happen all the time, but some weeks i have quite a few.

The kid i babysit has had his done but he continues to bleed as with a few friends at school. I only know one person who hasnt had one since.

Please let me know whether it is worth it!
And in that case could you throw in what it involves (what the sheesh is it!?)

Cheers Ginge

Well severe pain and a day of work.

Or

Bleeding at times when you really don't need it to, like serving a customer.

Don't know what causes them in my case. After a few weeks I'm usually really fed up (they can start anywhere at any time, though luckily most happen when I'm at home) and about to make an appointment with the doctor to check if anything's wrong when they stop.

Doesn't help that the lightest tap to my nose will start one off, and usually they're the worst, as something's been popped/broken, your body hasn't decided to dump a load of blood on your nice, clean, white t-shirt. Natural nosebleeds stop after a few hours, usually.

My uncle had one when he was a kid that was so bad they had to take him to hospital. Every towel in the house was soaked red. Used to hate them when I was a kid, they'd freak me out, which would make them worse.

I get nosebleeds a fair bit. Every so often there'll be a few weeks where I get either loads of small ones or a couple of big ones which span several hours (my record is about 5 hours, back when I was in high school - I accidentily restarted it by removing the clot, thinking it had fully stopped - you should've seen the state of the sink, and the amount of kitchen roll I soaked)

No.

Get it done on a school day and take the rest of the day off.

It makes it better. :)
