Anyone getting this? It's looking very good indeed and it's just gone gold. Rumour has it that there will be a demo on the 10th or around then with the game being released on the 24th. I must admit I had my doubts as to whether or not this will come out in June but thankfully it is. I haven't read or seen much about this until now because I was trying not to get into all of the hype. Looks like a must have by the looks of it.

Some useful info

Battlefield went gold on June 1st 2005 and will be released on the 24th of June.

Apparently the game runs nicely on a 3Ghz P4 with 1.5-2 Gig of Ram and a 9800 Pro. But still.. You know you need a 6800GT to get the most out of it. 2 gig of RAM is probably best.. I have 1Gig of 2700. But only a Radeon 9600, so I'm not going to be maxing anything except the temperature of my components.

Gerrid i'd never normally say this but SR seems to do quite a good one, all you'd need is an extra 512 ram and you'd have a better one than the one your currently looking at http://specialreserve.co.uk/Fujitsu-Siemens-Amil_5066_r.html

Well if it's made well it should work well for all specs, what I don't understand is they say you need a recommended 256mb GFX card when you have those 9600 XT's which come in 256mb flavours which don't perform nearly as good as a 9700/9800 with 128mb?

Also I don't think anything above 1.5gb of RAM is worth it because it's not likely you're going to use the full allocation of RAM unless you run alot of memory aggressive programs.

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ MHz processor

No thanks. I want it to work longer than 10 minutes before shutting off due to heat. I also want the battery to last longer than 1 hour.

Thanks for the help though :' }

Yeah the geforce 5xxx series was complete balls too, alot of the time people might have well stayed with thier 4600ti's as they are still running the latest games quite well.

Yeah the Ghz and Mb measurements for processors and GFx cards is so misleading. I guess they have to provide some sort of direction, but I imagine a lot of people get caught with crappy cards with high RAM, and end up having to upgrade within a year.

Well here's hoping it has a 640x480 option, with no shadows, textures, sounds, stuff and blah.

The demo will be a good representation of how the final product will run, right? I mean, that's the point of it...huh?
