Saw on the news today that Dubya has admitted that there is absolutely no evidence that Iraq was linked in any way, shape, or form to 9/11. I don't have a link (cos I'm lazy) so if someone could provide one I'll be grateful.

Oh, Bell; if you're not TOO busy sulking, I was wondering how that squared with your utterly ludicrous claim that the Iraqi military went on high alert the day before 9/11. Cos, y'know, you'd think the US President would consider that to be evidence. Feel free to answer as Bell, Practical Magic, Halo Fan...whomever you like.

People are too quick to forget Taliban funding and support from their own country. Seems to me like a US and UK link to al-Qaida. AND we have WMD. That could be launched at just about any country on the globe. Probably within 45 minutes (although if you question I'll remember that was a battlefield detail). And we go to war without UN backing based on evidence that was over a decade old and "viewed through the prism of 9/11". It's looking like the US and UK are the nations at fault here.

Says who?
Because, to me, that link and the other news stories is President Bush saying Iraq has no links to Sep 11th.
Semantics and word games aside, we give money to terrorists so should we attack ourselves as well, just to be sure?

Okay then, let me put it this way; would you care to discuss just how much funding the US and UK have given to terrorist organisations over the last, oh lets say, 20 year?

Here's a link for starters for you. Enjoy.

Also, does the banding about of unsubstantiated theories (coming from gvt sources mostly) like this reek of Comical Ali to anyone else?

'Saddam is linked to terrorism'
'Prove it'
'No'

'Saddam has WMDs'
'Prove it'
'No'

'Saddam tried to buy African plutonium'
'Prove it'
'No'

'Saddam slept with your mum and did her in the wrong 'un'
...

Maybe the information minister has defected?

Jeez, and this is news?
There never was anything to link Saddam to 9/11. Nobody ever claimed there was (did they?), and there was never any reason to consider there might be.

When I heard about Bush's stamement yesterday I paid it no attention. I was sure absolutely everyone knew it already.

70%? That can't be right?

That'd reinforce a few peoples' stereotypes...

Well put it this way, there's a very, very, very good chance Iraq was funding terrorists, maybe not enough to fund 9/11, but enough to kill people.

I also heard 70% of Americans believed Saddam had a hand in the 9/11.

And in response to this post, Blank, just because W sais Saddam didn't plan 9/11, isn't him saying there was no link what so ever between Iraq and Al-Qaida.

I heard he admited that there was no proof the SADDAM, was linked with the 9/11 attacks. That doesn't mean he wasn't giving terrorists money.
