They said all this about Metal Gear Solid 2 and it never happened. In fact the PS2 version runs smoother than the Xbox version. The PC version ran similar and the resolution was higher but the Xbox version was identical only with problems. The same will happen with GTA as when it rains I can see the game running into major problems as the Xbox hardware requires certain elements to be re-designed and rain particles falls under this section.

Can't they just bump up the resolution and push back the fog? I only ask because I read about the Cube version of MGS and they were talking about playing with the resolution and brighntness of the game as if it was as easy as turning a dial to change it.

I suppose it depends on how the GTA games are programmed.

Do you seriously believe they are going to give it a graphical over haul in a few months? If so you are being led down the wrong path by screenshots which won't represent the final version of the game. Check early PS2 shots and they look EXACTLY the same from places like Gamespot and IGN. The graphics aren't even that bad when you consider the size of the game and if you expect a complete graphical splendid game then you are building yourself up for a fall.

I'm in two minds as to whether to get this or not now.

In the one hand, I've already finished both games for the PS2, but then again I do think the X-Box version will be better in almost every way. Certainly graphically, and the possibility of Custom Soundtracks makes it a little more appealing. But with the PS2 versions I have, now that I've completed them I have a couple of cheat discs that make the games a lot more fun.

So I guess I'll just wait and see what extras the games have, if any, before I make any desicions.

Or a drive by to the Mr Blobby song or Teletubbies. ;-)) Ok, maybe not, just can't force myself to waste hard drive space on those retarded "songs" ;-))

it won't ruin it having your own music. if you don't want your own music, just listen to the radio, but I like the idea of some prodigy pumping out as I smash people off their motorbikes and crush coppers with the wheels of my car.

no offence english_bloke :D

The PC version of GTA 3/Vice city are meant to be so much better. Hopefully Xbox will recieve ports of those with Custom soundtrack.

Yes, but you won't be FORCED into using it. It's just an option that's there for people who'll want to utilise it. No one's forcing you at gunpoint to use your own music, but I sure as hell will want to do it.
