Hilary Clinton possibly going to enter the race for the 2004 elections ? I have a feeling she will, and I have a feeling she 'could' win if she does. If Sky's report is accurate , then a 37-48% rating with Democrats is good, 'cause once the candidates are narrowed down then that can only increase.

It'd certainly be interesting to see what a woman in charge of the USA would be like, and her only real (hopefully) skeleton in the closet has already been aired when her husband fell from office.

Despite Clinton's faults, he wasn't a bad man and, as Goat Boy made reference to in another post, it was certainly a better time for the USA and the world when he was in power. The Monica Lewinsky thing was stupid, because when you see the amount of money used by Republicans to unearth it then you see that very few people on the planet could stand up to that much scrutiny and come out clean.

If she runs for it, then I'd *possibly* be hoping she wins.

I'm not as cynical, Clinton did make a difference, and if his wife becomes President I reckon we'll see a rapid change in foreign policy which 'could' change everything.

And it was Gabriel Byrne, not Al Pacino. Probably the weirdest sex scene ever in a film too. {shivers}

But back to the point..

Presidents come and go and for the most part the American population shrug their shoulders and accept it, whoever gets in. They seem to hold a grudge for the strangest things though, stuff that doesn't affect their country, simply the personal life of their president.

Still, I'm sure that being the leader of the only super-power with the biggest cache of weapons in the world is an easy job...

The one where Al Pacino plays the devil?

End Of Days, I think.

No, I was trying to describe another film - set just before the turn of the millenium, he gets caught up with the church trying to stop the devil doing.. something bad.

Though I'm impressed you knew his character name in Twins :^)

Genius!

I figure he has to play up to it a little bit though.

However, he's become Mr. Universe, using comparatively minimal steroids, he's transformed himself from the 'actor' we saw(?) in that old hercules film into the Arnie of Twins, that religios one I can't remember the name of and so many more. Not to say he's a *great* actor, but the *improvement* was incredible.
Thus, when he does something, he puts incredible effort into it to become successful.
And he has a business degree, so he must have some intelligence. More than Bush.

And he married a Kenedy, so he's been politically alert for long enough to have picked up a few things.

Whether I agree with his policies is another matter, but I'm sure he's more than capable.

God if she gets elected there'll be a war every 28 days. :D

Anyway seriously i'm not too bothered who wins the election next year as long as their surname isn't Bush. Plus i doubt he'll be be re-elected anyway if what i hear from my friends and family in America is true about the public's reaction to him. Disheartened about the post-war Iraq situation plus the economy problems. I know the Americans aren't too happy about petrol prices going up (even though with the increase it still isn't even half of what we have to pay) and as Bush snr found out, if you don't sort out the problems at home first, mainly the economical problems, you won't get re-elected.

Arnie for president!!!!! :D

"You guys are der real Terminators!"
What he said to the soldiers posted in Baghdad. This worry anyone else? He's a fun guy, but making him governor/president would be like making Hugh Grant Prime Minister.

"Well Mr President... I, er... Arnie, I mean... I, um... what I'm trying to say is.. that, um... our nations have never been stronger, you know..., I, I mean yeah, I never um, had s-s-sexual , um relations with that.. y'know, woman."

I've got something to put in you
It's Ralph Nader, Nader, Nader, Nader
:^D

I have to say, I don't like the ex-president relations trend going on - republican son, democrat missus, it's beginning to look like how the royal family worked under the Tudors and Stewarts!

I would mention Arnie too, but I like the guy, and think he could actually do a decent job.
