it seems i can find no way of regaining the respect/trust of many of the people i know at school. some people make others laugh by doing something, but if a different kind of person did the same thing, they would hurl abuseat him/her. i'm a middle of the road type person. i'm neither popular nor despised.

i don't like the way things are at school, and i don't want to be particularly popular, just someone who can be leaned on by people at times. i hate my character, because i dont show my true colours. im either walking differently to my normal stance to look 'cool' or just doing things i'd probably never do normally. i also get paranoid about people seeing my boxers/pants underneath my trousers.

it's for these reasons i've desperately tried to change my appearance. working out, showering much more than usual, or growing my hair, but nothing really hits the spot. I hate my moles, aswell, and i'm ashamed of this, even though they are only about 2mm thick, they annoy me because they're dotted around my face - about 7 or 8. It's not recently i've been ashamed of my appearance, but the fact that my hormones are about to go berserk has amplified this. whenever i see a girl i know from school (particularly if it's someone i can't help having feelings for), i just wan't to be able to go out and talk, but it's just not gonna happen. i feel like such a fool. And whenever i see a 'popular' lad, it makes me sick, because they're just morons, and i can't get round the way it's turned out, because i'm not a bad person.

Today, i was out in town with my mum and sister (who's 21), and we only wen't there for them to look for another bed for my bro, and me to go to a stationary shop to look for art things, and so they got sidetracked, and looked around tarty women's shops. Then, to my horror i see 4 girls i know from school, and i'm thinking 'oh S***'. they KNEW i were there.

One of the major things i'm ashamed of is my nature. i stay indoors all day, trying to avoid going out, and when i do i get extremely nervous and try to stay out of visibility.

i need help.

mind you, home is the place that makes me happiest. not everyone has a group of birds at home that care about you (well, only 1), but the only tame cockatiel in the aviary (alfie) is OK with sitting on my shoulder, and the feeling of the kind nibbling of my ear or the bird-like chatter he makes is comforting. it is getting even more special by the moment, because recently, Alfie raised two chicks, and their tiny "breep" sounds just make you melt. it's even MORE special when they sit on your finger or shoulder, timidly nibbling the seeds you offer them.

It's Dutch. But I see your point.

And yeah, being a teenager is frankly rubbish.

Teenage years suck, everything is new, emotions run wild, old people frown upon you when you listen to music they hate *shakes fist*.

But the main thing is to just forget about everything and have fun!

- Go out with your mates
- Have a laugh
- Go to partys and get hammered
- Meet a 'lass and date her

Teenage years should'nt be wasted on drowning in your sorrows, And even the 'popular' people go through the same process.

Most of them probably go home and cut themselves due to depression.

Oh and long hair might not be cool.

My advise is make a nice cup of tea and talk it over with somebody who knows nothing about everything.

No wait, that wouldn't be very useful.

Let me put it this way: Life is a jester named Gorkins, and he's a juggler.
When he keeps the balls in the air, everything is alright. But when he drops the balls, as he inevitably must, everybody notices and points...
Gorkins wants to be noticed, but not for the wrong reasons. Yet the right reasons aren't always the best reasons.
What does Gorkins learn most from? Keeping the balls in the air or dropping the balls. Tis' the latter.
If Gorkins realizes this, one day he will be a great juggler.

If the mouth that kisses doesn't also bite, then we will forever be in the dark.

It's called being a teenager.
Most horrible time of your life, everything feels wrong etc etc.
It's just hormones, and *everyone* at your school feels the same, whether they show it or not.
It's the time when people find tribes - be it rockers, townies, whatever. Nobody feels comfortable so everyone finds a tribe that suits them and sticks to it.

I'd say dont worry, but you will. Just as I did, just as millions of teenagers the world over since history began worry.
It will pass, if that helps.

Precisely, i do all my school work and homework and try my best. Whereas the 'cool' people dont do it and on the offchance they do do it they actually get rewarded. I get the p*** taken out of me all the time because in class i just shut the hell up and get on with it and get good grades, but as soon as the person that takes the mic does somethine 'clever' they suddenly think they are top of the class!?!? In I.T Lessons coz im quite good on computers (to a certain extent) all the people who think they are cool ask me for help and i say no, they then have a go at me saying that i am depriving them? Im not depriving them of nout its just that they dont know nothing and dont want to know nothing. People like this also distract the class and get the whole of the class told off, and there friends just sit back and laugh. If i did that they would beat me up!
