I need some help from someone who knows a lot about computers. My computer has suddenly started acting odly. As soon as I turn my machine on when it is loaded I go to start > settings > network connections to connect to the internet, but each time I did so, the start menu froze, as did the task bar along the bottom of the screen - however I could still use desktop icons and stuff.

I kept re-setting and evetually the problem went away. However now every time I try and use Microsoft Paint the same thing happens now. I have just defragemnted and it is still being really weird. My hard drive isn't full to bursting (79% free space) - I dont have any crap like Kazaa still on my comp and I dont have any dodgy pirate software. I havent installed anything recently and this problem seems to have come out of nowhere!

Help!

Well, I'll tell you anyway, in case you can get them:

- Click Start
- Click Run
- Type SFC in the box
- Click Start

SFC is the System File Checker and will find damaged or corrupted file on your PC and reinstall them using the disks.

Maybe it's the humidity?
I dunno. Some things were strange with me today too.

Oh darn. Won't work actually, if you don't have the disks

Oo Oo. I got an idea. Which version of Windows are you using?

This might work.

Go to control panel, then add remove programs, then double click on accessories and click paint off, click apply, restart windows, do the same but click paint back on.

I hope that makes sense.

Its weird.

Everything electrical seems to be going odd today, my cd player began randomly skipping through tracks on cd's (non-copied ones!) and my dvd player was jittering earlier on too.

The matrix is after me, or even worse, Powergen!
