Are any of you married already and have any horror stories or great stories to tell?

Yeah there is. Registry office.
£0.00 (apart from the price of the certificate)
Her on the lead, him behind and parents on 2 others.
All pachyderms decked in traditional decoration.
Looked amazing. Elephant ride right onto the beach where the shrine/temple was.
No vicar "blah blah solemnly declare" for 40 mins etc.
Hop off elephants, into the temple/shrine where a priest basically says "You up for it then?" "Yep" "Cool"
Then a load of dancers dance, throw petals and sing.
Back on the Elephants and to a banquet with family and guests.
At a fraction of the traditional UK church wedding.
I'd get married just to see that.

Lucky for your partner you only like it 'small'.
Elephant ride from the hotel, all the staff had thrown rose petals along the route, villagers and crowds all lined the procession applauding and throwing carnations (apparently this is tradition there).
Her, her (now) husband, my mum, his parents.
Average church wedding/reception/honeymoon etc? £16,000
Cost of Sri Lankan wedding, with elephant procession, already there for honeymoon etc?
£2,400
