I posted this problem a couple of months ago.My Freeola connection drops (usually overnight, but don't know if this is just coincidental ?).I was advised to try unplugging my router for a small period (think I left it off all day while I was at work) as I think this resets the connection at the exchange ?.It got better for a short period of time but now its as bad as ever.I replaced the router but that has made no difference. Its not a huge problem as all I have to do is reboot the router and its ok for a day or so.I will try the unplugging the router overnight trick again,no reason not to.Has anyone else experienced this problem ?.If not would that point to the issue being with my local exchange ?.

FWIW - The Freeola checker is working again for me today...

Connection just dropped 3 times in a space of about 10 mins (while I was using it).Thought I would try the BT speedtest, first 2 times failed as the connection timed out but the third attempt was successful.

Results here :

Your DSL connection rate: 7616 kbps

(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)

IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps

Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 3308 kbps

Changing the phone filter hasn't done a thing. Its happened around the same time of night as Butch mentioned (11.30 ish).Don't know if this is just a coincidence or if there is a reason for it ?.As ever though, rebooting the router seems to clear it.

Sorry - ButchML. Garin said I was too nice :¬P

My exchange is due to upgrade March 2011 but the Freeola checker also fails for me. I don't believe it's due to the date being in the past I think the data (BT's!?) is probably unavailable - or there's another problem.
Not only is the upgrade date missing the exchange name it as well...

The information I've just received using the 'Freeola Speed Checker' also reveals the same - unknown and unknown. Like Pete, I too live on top of the exchange - but have never experienced his 'dropping'....how did pb come into the equation? I thought it was Pete who had the 'problem' :-)

Normally you're talking us up Hmmm...., not sure I like this new change of tact!

Anyway my exchange is also being listed with an unknown switchover time. This is due to the time BT say they were going to upgrade it having been and gone with them not doing anything. I am assuming pete is in a similar boat.

Looks like there's a problem at the moment - try again later, it does normally work!

I'm sure Freeola will say it's a BT problem...
