Does anybody have a good free firewall that they could recommend me?
Easy question, gonna get complicated answers now!
Thanks.

I don't recall, and I suppose trojan is the wrong word. I never applied patches to that server, so it's entirely my own fault :O[]
But it does highlight what people can do to a neglected machine on a broadband connection

My linux server under the stairs got a trojan, and it does nothing all day except pass packets around. It was a kick in the teeth, as I only used Linux because I was assured using Windows was like painting a target on my ass. And I assure you no porn diallers were executed!

My mate who had his server DrDoS'd off the net might disagree with you. Firewalls prevent intruders using your computer for their own purposes. No-one may care about your or my computer, but a script kiddie just has to point a couple of scripts at *.btopenworld.com and he has himself a couple of thousand machines to play with. He may not choose to harm my computer (or he could nuke your hard disk..), but I don't want intruders in my system, especially if they're going to use my bandwidth to put some helpless sucker somewhere in the world out of business.
