We seem to be starting quite a few at the moment, so lets keep it all in one place.

This is your centre for enquiring about/recommending/talking about any albums, songs or rappers.

Enjoy.

Nah, The Documentary was disappointing to say the least. He's like everyone else out now - can't flow, just raps half-assed. The only good thing is he references some classic stuff but unless you really care about hearing a guy name drop Eazy-E every so often it's really not worth it, it was bland and boring.

I thought the same as you before I bought The Documentary, I think theres about 2 tracks with Fiddy actually doing a verse in which isn't so bad.

Mary J Blige(sp?) is in a few of his tracks which is good. I suggest you read this review : http://www.nobodysmiling.com/hiphop/album_review/79666.php

I basically agree with everything the reviewer has said. My favorite track is probably 'Dreams' or 'Running', they're both good.

Im just about to read their review on Common's 'Be'.

I haven't downloaded anything from iTunes, but I see your point of legitimate downloading - it's just that if someone mentions downloading, I automatically think the illegal kind :P

Glad to see you're opting for BE - you won't BE disappointed...

John Legend's album is also splendid, not quite as good as Common's effort, but something completely different and refreshing. He really is a credit to the industry.

I keep thinking about checking the Documentary out - is it plastered with 50 cent though? If so, I'll pass thanksverymuch. Hate It Or Love It is supposed to be the Game's song yet it seems Fiddy is all over it. Not good :|

Mos def's album is indeed average, nowhere near the quality of BOBS. Haven't checked out Medina Green or Blackstar yet, will add them to the list methinks :)

I've already got Medina Green and Blackstar. I'll get Common's album seeing as I haven't got any of his albums.

Damn, i've just seen Mos Def's new album 'The New Danger'. I want so many albums...

It's my B-day at the end of the month so i'll be able to buy all the albums I want then. But right now I desperately need to listen to something new and different.

Last album I bought was 'The Documentary' which was pretty good...but im sick of it now.

Really? Wow, Kanye, John Legend AND Common all on 1 Album must be good.

I've managed to get my mum to pay for the standard album, might be pushing it now, but it's only £1 extra so im sure she wont mind.

Im going to get the actual album now, im not going to bother downloading from iTunes.

I was being teasingly pedantic.
I've come across some of the other tracks on it too which sound pretty good.
I'm just waiting until I have money to spend. :-)

John Legend is on the Common album.

It's worth getting the one with the DVD too, only £1 more and theres some interesting interviews and live footage.

I've downloaded 3 tracks from his album...and I actually really like them. I should be able to persuade my mother to buy it for me, I mean...I did get a good Report from school...

Then I shall save up for John Legend as i've decided he's genius.

Bullett, have you ever bought an album from iTunes? I think I might do that instead of ordering the album cause I think it's cheaper (£7.99?).

I've only ever bought single tracks from iTunes, never an album. Is it worth it?

I forgot how much I love DMX's Cradle to the Grave album. Not the best album, but I just know all of the words cause I listened to it so many times when I was younger.
